~Bio~

Timothy Mare was born to  a poor household residing along a port town. As a young lad he would often get in trouble with local law enforcement for his habit of stealing, mugging, and generally terrorizing fellow citizens for profit to help himself get by. This also drove a wedge between him and his family, as while they could understand their less than stellar living situation, they could not condone his way of handling it.

When he came to age, Timothy abandoned his impoverished family and set out for his own personal wealth and glory. He had heard of a ship in port recruiting fresh hands on deck  and without a second thought or investigation he took it. Thus started his career....in piracy. Turns out it was a natural fit for him, pillaging merchants, holding nobles ransom, sinking anyone who dared defied their demands, etc. Timothy was quickly making a name for himself.

That was, however, before one harsh and stormy night changed everything. Mind you, he had experienced tropical storms before even during his childhood living on the coastal shore, but this tempest was unlike anything he had endured before. black waves slammed into the ship knocking the crew to and thro, the winds roared and thunder boomed to drown out the sound of boards creaking, ropes snapping, and hopeless prayers of survival. Just as things couldn't be predicted to get any worse, large limbs erupted from the water, grasping it's tendrils around the ship and dragging it slowly into the brine.

The young cutthroat felt fear pound in his heart, his mind racing for an escape. He couldn't die here! He'd do anything, give anything! And that's when he felt it. The glowing eyes staring at him, no, staring through to his very core. Like the otherworldly gaze was glancing over his soul as it clung to any possible fleeting hope, staring at his will to survive at any means. He heard a voice in his head, saying it found his desperation for survival and prosperity 'delectable'. The voice said it wouldn't let him die there, under the condition that he would give it the thing he was valuing most: his life, his service. Not seeing a better alternative, he agreed....and a pact was made.
